Philippe Ougrinov and Xavier Marcenac founded CallPoint in September 2004 – the first trading name of the call center was CallCenterBulgaria.
The strategic vision of the call center was to offer from Eastern Europe (Romania and Bulgaria) a different near-shore value proposition. Instead of providing mono language BPO services, like English in South East Asia or French in North Africa, CallPoint call center aimed to deliver multilingual customer care services, thus competing with global BPO players and well-known call center locations such as Dublin, Amsterdam or Barcelona which offer BPO services.
Starting as a telemarketing agency for Germany, CallPoint in Bulgaria fast evolved to serve multilingual customer care services for well-known multinational corporations across Europe and the USA. CallPoint call center also provides BPO services to the Eastern Europe market where it has delivery centers, namely Bulgaria and Romania.
In 2007, Grégoire Vigroux and Yann Bidan founded CallPoint Romania. They opened a call center (a delivery center) in Bucharest, having as a first objective to deliver customer care in Latin languages, including Romanian.
In 2008, Global Finance Growth Fund became a minority shareholder of CallPoint New Europe, recognizing the early successes and the growth potential of the company in Eastern Europe area (Romania and Bulgaria).
A leader in Eastern Europe outsourcing industry with 800 seats (January 2010) across 3 platforms, CallPoint call center aims to grow to 800 seats through a network of delivery centers in Eastern Europe that will expand to neighboring countries, leveraging different language skills and local labor pools to address the needs of its growing customer base.
